WM 1966 England جام جهانی ۱۹۶۶ انگلستان

WM 1966 England
The eighth football World Cup took place in England, in order to celebrate the 100-year-jubilee of the English Football Association (FA) and the 70 volunteering teams set a new record. The surprises of the qualification of the World Cup of 1966 were: Portugal won against the CSSR, who were second in the World Cup of 1962, North-Korea as the first Asian team taking part came to the quarter-final. In the semi-final England and Portugal played against each other (2:1), Germany beat the UdSSR 2:1 as well and with the same result Portugal was able to defeat their third place against the UdSSR. The fifth goal of the final match (England vs. Germany) in the 101st minute, the score was 2:2, still today is one of the most controversial: the English player Hurst shot the ball under the lath, from which the ball fell down onto the ground again, where as the only person the Russian linesman pretended to have seen the ball in the goal. And as the last goal for the English team was shot, a lot of spectators were on the field, yet. But nevertheless: England won the final match 4:2 and became World Cup Champion of the year 1966.
